Changing the narrative of Sickle Cell Disease.

About Us

iFightForSickleCell started as a social media challenge in 2014 to aide in spreading awareness of Sickle Cell Disease. Over the years, we’ve worked hard to host various virtual events while consistently educating our communities.

What is Sickle Cell Disease?

Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) is an inherited blood disorder affecting hemoglobin, the protein responsible for carrying oxygen in red blood cells. This condition causes red blood cells to become rigid and crescent-shaped, leading to blockages in small blood vessels. As a result, individuals with SCD may experience anemia, pain episodes, increased risk of infections, and potential organ damage.

Sickle Cell Sundays

Sickle Cell Sundays is a podcast series dedicated to bringing crucial conversations about Sickle Cell Disease to the forefront, amplifying voices often left unheard in medical discussions.
